peru

peru is a country that shares their border with south ecuador where the cities of hoaquillas and aguas verdes meet.

walking through this border checkpoint is seamless where no identification is needed and nobody is stopped between the two nations. if you want to drive into peru, that will require a little more work as you’ll need to pass through the dedicated car crossing which is about 10 miles away.

peru provided me a valuable experience for the documentary when i required medical attention for a severe cut on my hand that occurred when I sliced it on a cable car, cutting my hand all the way down to my tendon.

as the united states covers the medical care for millions of migrants that come into our country, it was fascinating to need medical attention in a foreign country and to document the experience along the way.
