My name is Jason Lanier, a photographer and documentary filmmaker. I started this project in march 2021 thinking it would last a few months. as the situation has became more divisive and of greater importance it has now turned into an ongoing project for over 3 years.
I personally allowed myself to be trafficked by the cartels and coyotes as I completed the migrant route that milliions of migrants have taken. I’ve traveled along every accessible mile of the border wall on both the mexican and usa side of the wall.
i make documentaries that show what’s actually happening, regardless of what i personally believe or want the the story to be. I gave a ted talk back in 2021 discussing the need for us to use our voices as photojournalists to show the truth, regardless of what the truth may be.
We need truth as a society to function. and we need truth to come together and find common ground to fix the issues that plague our nation and world.
