What I’m About

I’ve been shooting as a professional photographer since 2007. I did my first documentary work in 2009 when i went to shoot the inauguration of president obama. I’ve gone on to shoot every one since including trump and biden.

I did my first international photojournalism work in ethiopia in 2014. since then I’ve shot photojournalistic and documentary work in africa, alaska, australia, cuba, europe, south america and all over the united states.

My work is raw and real. i’ve learned to listen to all opinions no matter how contrary they may be to my own, on every issue, to present the story fairly.

I’ve learned that perspectives can be very different depending on where you live and how the situation personally impacts you on a daily basis.

i started delving into this area of work after finding myself unable to believe virtually anything i saw or read. in a world where everything is so slanted by political agendas, it seems we are seeking only to win an argument vs. finding the truth.

I strive to make it an immersive experience where you can feel what the people are feeling on the ground level to help you empathize and understand what it’s like from their daily world view.

I show it all. The heart, the fun, the struggles, the brutality, and the things that we sometimes like to pretend aren’t happening. my work as a portrait, landscape, and wedding photographer, as well as photography instructor not only funds these excursions, but also impacts the way i shoot, light and interact with people while out in the field.

i appreciate you taking the time to view my work and thank you for your support.

My Ted Talk in november 2021 that explains how I approach finding the truth with my documentary work
